Between earth and sky, opacity and transparency are designed to emphasize the functions by defining an iconic architecture: the areas intended for offices are characterized by transparent facades, while those that house the workshop and systems, on the lower floors, are hidden from view.
The primary objective of the Ferrero Technical Center project was to give the right welcome to distinct, but closely connected functions: the workshop for the production of machinery for the Ferrero plants, located on the ground floor together with all the activities related to their design; while almost all of the upper level is intended for different types of offices, management and operations, as well as work spaces, meeting rooms and areas available to staff.
The large, full-height entrance hall, entirely made of glass, dedicated to employee access and welcoming visitors, concentrates the perception of the entire Ferrero world hosted in the building in a single space. Inside, a scenographic metal staircase in a vibrant red color crosses the volume like a sort of “suspended walk” and offers those who walk along it a first view of some of the activities in the heart of the building: the triple height of the hall overlooks the large windows of the mezzanines, rooms that house experimental areas, meeting rooms, offices for consultants, a relaxation area and changing rooms for staff.
